A guy at Big Bend changed how I air down

I used to run 18 psi on gravel roads, thought I knew what I was doing. This old timer watched me air down at the trailhead and said 'you're gonna bounce your fillings out at that pressure' and talked me down to 12. Wish I could remember his name, night and day difference on the washboard sections, has anyone else gotten pressure tips from random strangers that actually worked?

Honestly that 12 vs 18 psi tip is gold, same thing happened to me in Utah and it saved my back.
