A trail buddy in Moab told me my tire pressure was costing me traction, and he was right
I was running 35 psi on dirt like an idiot until he pointed out I should be down around 18 for the rocks. Now I air down at the trailhead every time, and the ride is night and day different. Anyone else got a tire pressure number they swear by for slickrock?
What kind of tires are you running? On my old set of KO2s I ran 16 in the rocks and they hooked up great, but my newer mud tires like a bit more, closer to 20 (they're stiffer sidewalls so they don't squish as much at low psi). Either way you're smart to air down at the trailhead, that 35 was probably beating you up all day.
