Can we talk about the $320 I blew on a rooftop tent I used twice?

I bought a hard shell rooftop tent for my Tacoma back in April because everyone on here said it would change how I camp. Used it two times at Big Bear and realized I hate climbing a ladder at 2am to pee, plus my truck drove like a brick on the highway. Sold it for $180 to a guy in Bakersfield, so I lit $320 on fire for the privilege of finding out I'm a ground tent guy. What gear did you buy because of forum hype that just sat in your garage?
