Hit 250,000 miles on my old Tacoma and the engine didn't even blink
I was driving home from a hike in Sedona last weekend and noticed my odometer was sitting at 249,997. I pulled into a gas station to grab a drink and sat there watching it roll over to 250k. That truck has been through floods in Flagstaff, mud in Moab, and a few times where I was sure the transmission was gonna give up. But it just keeps going like it's got something to prove. I bought it used for $3,500 back in 2011 and it's never left me stranded. Anyone else have a rig that just refuses to quit no matter how many miles you put on it?

My '99 4Runner hit 300k last year and it didn't even stutter. Bought it off a guy in Tucson who thought the timing belt was gonna snap any day... that was five years ago. Toyotas from that era are just built different, yours sounds like a keeper for sure.

Read this article that said those late 90s/early 2000s Toyotas had some of the most bulletproof engines ever made, and your story just proves it. @the_emery you got lucky with that timing belt gamble, most people would've swapped it by now.
