Just realized the real trick to airing down tires on the trail
I've been running 35s on my Jeep for about 2 years now and always struggled with getting the tire pressure right when I hit the rocky stuff up near Moab. I'd just guess and end up either too soft and risk a bead or too hard and bounce all over. Last weekend I finally tried something different. I picked up a cheap tire deflator tool from Amazon for like 15 bucks and set it to 18 PSI based on a tip from a guy at the gas station. Problem was I still had to walk around and check each tire with my gauge after. So I tried deflating all four tires by pulling the valve cores out partway at the same time using those little screw-on deflators. It worked WAY better than I expected. The truck sat SO much better on the slickrock and I didn't have any wobble on the way back to the pavement. Has anyone else found a faster way to get the pressure right without spending 50 bucks on a fancy system?

Pulling valve cores isn't really the same as using proper deflators, you're just letting air out fast without controlling it evenly. If one tire drops faster than another, you can actually mess up your bead seating on uneven ground.
