Overland trailer turned into an expensive shed ornament

Bought a used offroad camper trailer for $6,500 in Reno back in March, figured it would pay for itself on weekend trips. Turns out the three times I actually towed it, I spent more on gas and campsite fees than just renting a cabin near Moab. How many miles have you guys put on your trailers versus how many nights you've actually slept in them?
