The bald tire on trail 3 changed my beadlock mindset
Last month at the Mud Bog Run in Eagle County, I watched a guy run a full lap on a bald 35 that lost its bead halfway. He just pulled over, reseated it with a ratchet strap and a lighter, and finished the run. I always thought beadlocks were for show rigs, but seeing that in person made me look into how much a decent set actually runs. I got a quote for $1,100 installed and I'm still deciding. Has anyone else switched to beadlocks after seeing a close call like that, or am I overthinking this?
