Had to pick between direct mail and Facebook ads for a local client
I was working with a small pizza shop in Austin that only had a $500 budget for their grand opening. I pushed hard for Facebook ads since I know the targeting tools, but the owner swore by direct mail coupons to every house within 2 miles. We split the budget and did both, $250 each. The direct mail brought in 40 coupon redemptions in the first week, while the Facebook ads got maybe 8 clicks that turned into orders. Has anyone else seen direct mail actually beat digital for a local business like that?

Man, that's rough when the old school method just works better like that.

Old ways aren't always outdated, sometimes they're just proven.

My friend Beth tried a new app for budgeting last month and switched back to her paper ledger after three days.
