Old agency guy told me to stop using stock photos. He was right.

Brian from account planning said my $2000 client deck looked generic because of the photos. I argued back hard. Then I spent 3 hours on Unsplash finding real shots of actual factory workers. The client called out the 'authentic feel' in the review. Has anyone else had a senior person make a small call that shifted your whole approach?

Old creative director once told me my layouts were too safe and I should "break something on purpose." I tilted a headline 3 degrees in a pitch deck and the client said it felt rebellious. Never looked at a grid the same way after that.

Oh totally! @lucasw82, I read that "break something" advice in a book once. It works.
