My French press shattered this morning when I bumped it with the kettle handle

It was a $25 Bodum I've had for 3 years and now I'm stuck debating whether to buy the same one or try a ceramic pour-over setup instead, anyone have a recommendation for something hard to tip over?

Actually a ceramic pour-over setup is gonna be way easier to tip over than a French press lol. The glass carafes on those are super narrow and top heavy, especially if you bump it while pouring hot water. I'd just get another Bodum honestly, they're pretty stable and you know it works. The glass might break again but you could look for one with a metal frame stabilizer thing around it. Some of the newer designs have a rubber base that grips the counter better too. Plus three years for a $25 French press is solid value honestly.

@hayden144 nailed it. Pour overs are just asking for trouble.

Man yeah that's a good point. A buddy of mine got a ceramic pour over and his cat knocked the whole thing off the counter the first week. He went back to his old French press, the one with the rubber base that actually stays put.
