That cold brew gadget I laughed at actually works
Picked up a cheap cold brew maker at a garage sale for $3 just to prove it was junk. 24 hours later I had the smoothest coffee I've ever made, no bitterness at all. Anyone else get proven wrong by a dumb kitchen tool?

24 hours is way too long for a cold brew, 12 to 18 hours max is the sweet spot.

My last batch I accidentally let sit for like 30 hours because I forgot about it. Took one sip and it tasted like I brewed it with regret and old sneakers. You gotta pull it out of the fridge on time, otherwise you're basically just making sad, bitter laundry water. 12 to 18 is definitely the zone, anything past that and you're playing with fire. How many ruined batches does it take before we learn to set a timer, right?
