Unpopular opinion: French press is better than pour-over for lazy mornings
I used to do the whole pour-over ritual every single day, weighing beans, timing the bloom, the whole deal. Then I got a new job last year that starts at 6 AM and I just couldn't keep it up. Now I just dump coarse grounds in a Bodum, let it sit for 4 minutes, and press. It's less clean and a bit more sediment, but for a Tuesday rush it beats standing there with a gooseneck kettle. Anyone else ditch a fancy method for something simpler?

Does the extra sediment in the cup ever bug you, or is it just part of the trade-off you've accepted? I switched back to a basic drip machine for my 5 AM shifts and the filter catches all the grit, but I miss the fuller body from the French press. The pour-over ritual is nice but not realistic when you're half asleep and running late.

Have you ever tried just letting the coffee settle for a minute before pouring? I do that and leave the last little bit in the carafe so I barely get any grit but still keep that thick, full body.
