yall are sleeping on the aeropress for cold brew and it makes me crazy

been making cold brew in a french press for years and always got that gritty sludge at the bottom. my buddy from a job site in austin showed me his aeropress setup last summer and i tried it myself a few days ago. you just grind coarse, put ice in the bottom cup, brew hot over it and press. comes out clean and takes like 2 minutes instead of 12 hours. anyone else tried this or still doing the overnight soak thing?

Lmao I feel personally attacked because I've been that guy with the jar of coffee sitting in my fridge for 16 hours like it's some kind of science experiment. Tried the aeropress method last week after seeing some youtube video and honestly it's almost too easy. I was skeptical because hot water over ice sounded like a fast track to watery nonsense but it came out smooth as hell. No gritty teeth feeling either which is my main beef with the french press method lol.

@jackson.matthew that "no gritty teeth feeling" part is exactly what sold me on the aeropress too. French press always leaves that sludge at the bottom of my mug no matter how careful I am with the plunge, drives me nuts. The hot water over ice method does feel like it should be a disaster but somehow the quick brew time keeps it from getting watery. I've been doing it with a light roast Ethiopian bean lately and it comes out almost fruity tasting, way cleaner than any cold brew I've made sitting in the fridge overnight.
