A new guy in Denver said 'good enough' on a flap track seal and I lost it

We were doing a heavy check on a 737 last winter, and I saw him about to close up a panel. I asked if he checked the sealant bead on the inboard flap track, and he just shrugged and said 'looks good enough from here'. I made him pull the whole panel back off, and the bead was cracked and dry for about 18 inches. It happened right on the hangar floor, bay 4. How do you guys handle that 'good enough' attitude when you see it?

Bay 4 is why I keep a tube of sealant in my toolbox, like joelt70 said.

Sealant is just a band-aid for a bigger problem. Fixing the root cause saves more time and money in the long run. A temporary patch just means you'll be back there next week.

Wait, hold on, did you just say Bay 4? That spot is a total nightmare, I can't believe you even mentioned it! @white.nathan, you're a genius for keeping sealant handy, because that bay eats tape and prayers for breakfast. I saw a "good enough" patch there last month and it blew out before the truck even left the lot. That's not a fix, it's just a countdown to a bigger mess.

What's your go-to move when someone says "good enough" on a job that clearly isn't?
