Gave in and bought a $300 torque wrench from Snap-on, still kicking myself
I was holding out with my old Craftsman for 8 years, but a coworker kept ragging on me until I shelled out for the fancy digital one. Two months later the display glitched and it reads 10 ft-lbs off, but their warranty won't cover it because I bought it secondhand from a retiring mechanic. Anybody else burn cash on a name brand tool that didn't hold up?

Bought a used Matco impact that died in three months, so I feel your PAIN on that one.

It died in three months though? That just sounds like bad luck or maybe it was already beat to hell when you got it. People act like one bad tool means the whole brand is junk these days. Matco's not perfect but their impacts usually hold up if you don't treat them like an anvil. I've seen guys run the same 1/2" for years without a hiccup. Probably just got a lemon, happens to every brand at some point.

Bought a used Milwaukee once that caught fire, so I get it on a whole other level.
