Question about logbook entry rules: I found a 2019 FAA rule that says some inspections don't need a signoff
I was digging through the regs for a squawk on a Cessna 172 at our shop in Wichita and stumbled on 14 CFR 91.417, which says certain maintenance items don't need a separate logbook entry if they're covered in the inspection checklist. I always thought every single task had to be written up and signed, but our IA showed me a 2019 FAA letter that backs it up for repetitive items. It made me go back and look at how we've been doing our 100 hour docs for the past 3 years. Has anyone else had an inspector push back on this, and how are you handling the wording in your entries?
