Spent $200 on a borescope I thought was a gimmick, now I use it every shift
I used to think those cheap borescopes you hook to your phone were just toys, you know? Then I had a Cessna 172 with a weird oil leak I couldn't find with a mirror and flashlight. Dropped $200 on a Teslong model with the side-view mirror attachment, and it showed me a cracked hose clamp I never would've seen. Now I use it for exhaust checks and hidden corrosion spots too. Anyone else find a tool they swore they'd never need?

Eh, $200 for something that just finds one cracked clamp? Seems like overkill when a good flashlight and a $5 mirror usually do the job. Had a buddy buy one of those phone scopes and it just sat in his toolbox collecting dust after the first week.

Three cracked clamps in one year is the real issue, not the tool.
