That one trick with safety wire that actually saved me time
I was fighting with a stubborn lockwire job on a Cessna firewall last Tuesday, took me 20 minutes just to get the twists right. Finally tried pulling the wire through a small coffee straw to keep tension even and it worked like a charm. Has anyone else got a weird little hack that cut your time in half on something simple?

Grabbed a piece of heatshrink tubing off the bench and used it the same way @wendyk56 mentioned, worked like a dream.

Honestly, I gotta call you out on calling it "lockwire" though. In aviation, it's safety wire or lock wire, but "lockwire" isn't really the term. It's a small thing, but it bugged me reading it. As for the coffee straw trick, that's actually pretty smart for keeping tension even, I've seen guys use small pieces of fuel hose for the same reason. Tbh, anything that stops the wire from twisting back on itself is a win in my book.
