Torque wrench calibration check caught my bad habit after 8 years
I always pulled the clicker real slow until it clicked, but last month my 0-250 ft-lb Snap-On tested 12% off and the tech said it was my slow pulling method that flexed the beam, now I snap it quick and reset it to zero, has anyone else been torquing wrong this whole time?

You ever check your torque wrench after storing it for a few weeks? I had the same issue with my 3/8 drive, found out leaving it set to a higher number and letting it sit for months threw mine off about 8%. Now I always back it down to zero after every job, and I give the handle a quick snap instead of creeping up on the click. Also, don't forget to test it on a bolt you know the specs for every few months, cheap insurance compared to snapping a stud or under-torquing a head gasket.
