Unpopular opinion: Those expensive digital torque wrenches are a waste for most of us
I dropped $400 on a fancy Snap-on digital torque wrench last year thinking it would make my life easier. First time I used it on a 737 wheel nut, the batteries died halfway through and the calibration drifted by 8 ft-lbs. I ended up going back to my old beam style wrench that I bought for $60 in 2012 to double check everything. Now the digital one sits in my box collecting dust. Has anyone else had bad luck with these electronic torque wrenches failing when you actually need them?

Exactly what @scott.jana said, beam style never lets you down.
