Honestly, I totally get where you're coming from with this. I used to scroll right past those forum polls thinking they were pointless. What changed for me was looking at polls that had a ton of votes, because that usually means a bunch of people really care about the shows listed. I also make sure to read the comments under the poll to see why people are voting the way they do. You gotta remember that sometimes a poll is just about what's trendy at the moment, so mix it with your own gut feeling. It's become my go way to cut through the noise and find stuff I actually enjoy.
