Finally gave the 'One Piece' anime a real shot after years of avoiding it
I always thought the episode count was way too intimidating, but a friend convinced me to watch the 'Arlong Park' arc specifically. The way it built up Nami's backstory completely hooked me, and now I'm 200 episodes deep. Has anyone else had a show they avoided for a long time that totally won them over?

What show did you avoid the longest?

Arlong Park is the PERFECT place to start, it totally changes your mind about the whole series. I put off Attack on Titan for years because I thought it was just gore, but the story completely blew me away. That initial hurdle of starting a long show can feel impossible to get over. Really glad you gave it a shot.

Avoided Breaking Bad for ages because the whole "teacher turns drug lord" pitch sounded so dumb. Figured it was just hype. Then I caught the episode with the fly in the lab, and the weird tension of that whole situation just clicked for me. Binged the entire thing in two weeks after that. Totally proved me wrong.
