Found a hack to watch Crunchyroll on my crappy smart TV

My 2019 LG TV has been crashing anytime I try to use the Crunchyroll app. It would freeze up after like 10 minutes. After three weeks of that, I tried casting from my phone instead and it works perfectly every time now. Has anyone else had luck with a simple workaround for a busted app?

Yeah nah that TV app is absolute garbage. My buddy Mike had the same issue with his Samsung. He was losing his mind because it would crash right when the action scene started. Eventually he gave up and just started using his laptop with an HDMI cable hooked to the TV. Works fine now, no crashes or anything. He said the app is just poorly coded for smart TVs, especially older ones. The casting trick is solid too, I've heard a few people say that works. Honestly just ditch the TV app altogether, it's not worth the headache.

Honestly I used to think the Samsung apps were fine. Thought people were just being picky. Then my own TV started doing the same thing. Freezing right in the middle of shows. So frustrating. Your buddy Mike is right, the HDMI workaround is way more reliable. Might try that casting trick too, sounds easier than plugging in cables every time.

Totally agree with you @kim.zara, that app is terrible. I had the exact same experience with my old Samsung, freezing right at the worst moments like you said. The whole thing just feels broken, especially for older TVs. I ended up switching to a Chromecast and haven't looked back since. Really glad the HDMI trick is working for your buddy, it's such a simple fix for a super annoying problem.
