Hot take: the subs vs dubs fight is not worth the energy
I sat down to watch a show I like with a friend at his place in Sacramento and he refused to even start it because the voices were in Japanese. We spent 20 minutes arguing about it instead of watching anything, and by the time we agreed on subs he had lost interest and we just put on a basketball game. It hit me that I have never once finished a show and cared later which language the voices were in. What matters is whether I actually pay attention to what is happening on screen, and reading words at the bottom pulls my eyes away from the art. Does anyone here actually drop a show just because of the audio track, or do you just pick one and move on?
