My buddy in Austin kept pushing it but the whole 'ancient elf' concept sounded boring. Last week I caught a clip where the main character finally visits her old friend's grave after 80 years and the flowers she leaves are the exact ones from their first meeting. That tiny continuity beat got me. Now I'm 14 episodes deep and honestly the quiet sadness in it hits way harder than any big fight anime I've seen. Anyone else flip on a show after seeing one small detail that you couldn't stop thinking about?

It's the same way with people in real life. You can know someone for years and not really get them until you see one small thing, like how they always save the last bite of food for their dog, or how they still call their mom every Sunday even when they're mad at her. Those tiny beats tell you more than any big speech ever could. I've had friends where something clicked over the dumbest little moment and suddenly I got why everyone loved them. Weird how the small stuff sneaks past your guard when the obvious stuff can't.
