I thought the whole 'Frieren' hype was just more fantasy fluff, but the scene where she buys a new robe after 80 years actually got me.
On one side, it's a slow, quiet show about an elf watching friends die, but on the other, that exact pace is what makes the small moments hit so hard, so what's the bigger draw for you: the epic fantasy fights or the quiet character stuff?

Honestly, the quiet stuff, because the robe scene wrecked me too.

My cousin cried at that part and had to pause the movie. Tbh I just sat there feeling hollow for a solid ten minutes. Those small moments hit harder than any big speech.

...and that's EXACTLY why I tell people to just let the show breathe. Don't binge it. Watch one episode a night, max. That way the quiet stuff like the robe scene or the flower field moment has time to sink in. @hayden144 is right, the small moments wreck you because the show EARNS them. If you try to rush through to the big fights, you miss the whole point. The payoff for me is when she finally reacts to something after decades of setup - that's better than any spell battle.
