I was dead wrong about romance anime

Used to skip every romcom. Thought they were all fluff. My buddy made me watch 'Your Lie in April' and I was ugly crying by episode 12. Has anyone else got blindsided by a genre they thought they hated?

My buddy swore he hated horror movies until his girlfriend made him watch The Ring. Dude slept with the lights on for a week.

Ugh yeah that movie is no joke. I saw it in theaters when it came out and I was a mess for weeks. The Ring is one of those rare horror flicks that actually gets under your skin without needing a ton of gore. Your buddy probably learned his lesson the hard way, but honestly it's a classic for a reason. Hope he's finally sleeping without a nightlight by now.

Yeah Rodrigo that story is hilarious. I get why he freaked out though. That movie's videotape concept is just creepy. The way it uses atmosphere and sound instead of jump scares is what makes it stick with you. Even someone who says they hate horror can't argue with how well it's put together. It's like the perfect gateway horror film for people who think they're too tough for scary stuff.
