Noticed a shift in how people talk about anime endings lately

Tbh I was scrolling through discussion threads last week and saw way more people defending rushed finales than calling them out. Like 3 years ago everyone would roast a bad ending into the ground. Now it feels like half the comments are about 'appreciating the journey' or whatever. Has anyone else seen this change or am I just looking at the wrong threads?

Has it been getting harder to find threads that actually tear into a bad ending? Yeah, I've noticed it too. My trick is to sort by controversial on the finale discussion threads. That's where the real opinions live, not the front page where everyone's still riding the high of the last episode. The 'appreciate the journey' crowd comes out strong when a show is new and the hype train hasn't stopped yet. Wait a year and look at the same show on a rewatch thread, you'll get the honest breakdowns.

Read an article saying hype always drowns out criticism for the first year or so.
