Rewatching classic shonen series has me questioning the filler episode norm.
Can someone explain why padding is so widely accepted in anime discussions?

Why do we accept so much filler anyway? Rewatching One Piece had me fast-forwarding through countless episodes. It just kills the momentum of great storylines.

During the Water 7 saga, I fast-forwarded through so much padding it felt like a chore. It completely ruins the tension @lisa_morgan mentioned, especially when you're invested in the plot. Why do studios think we have time for that?

Honestly, I stopped watching weekly because of that. Now I use fan-made guides that timestamp filler scenes, so I skip only the fluff. @brookewhite is right about it feeling like a chore, but this method saves hours. For One Piece, I rely on "One Pace" or community edits that cut out padding.
