Skip the spoiler tags in watch parties, just read the manga timeline first

I kept ruining group watches by accidentally blurting out stuff from the manga. Last month my buddy in Osaka suggested we all read the chapter list on the wiki backwards, so we knew the order of reveals but not the details. It actually worked for our rewatch of that mecha show, nobody got mad and we caught way more foreshadowing. Has anyone else tried a timeline preview before a big discussion thread? Does it kill the mystery for new watchers or does it just make the theories better?

Kinda like reading the map before hiking somewhere. You know the trail's there, but the actual walk still throws surprises at you. Probably helps everybody enjoy it more without spoiling the climb.

But is knowing the trail ahead actually gonna make you enjoy it more, or just make you feel dumb when you still get lost? Because I feel like half the point of hiking is getting surprised by the terrain and figuring it out as you go.
