Spent $60 on dubbed anime tickets last month and it saved my Saturday nights
I know most people here will say subs are the only real way to watch, but I bought two tickets to a dubbed screening of a classic mecha movie at the local theater in Columbus for $60 total. My wife never got into anime because she hates reading subtitles after a long week, so she always skipped my watch nights. That one dubbed showing got her hooked, and now she asks me when the next one is. We have gone to three more since then, and she even started a list of shows she wants to try at home. Has anyone else had luck using a dubbed theater event to get a partner or friend into anime? I want to know if this works for other people or if I just got lucky.
