Spent hours on a post about anime character growth, whole thread got taken over by who would win in a fight

Used to get so annoyed when conversations turned into fight debates. Honestly changed my mind after realizing those "who would win" talks actually make me remember way more about the characters, like their specific powers and growth moments, than just talking about themes ever did.

But is that really deep analysis?

What if these vs debates make you analyze how characters handle tough spots beyond raw power? You wind up breaking down their clever workarounds and past failures (which reveals their core drives). That's digging into the story in a way pure theme chat doesn't touch.
