That moment in 'Psycho-Pass' season 2 when the Sibyl System reveals its true nature really hit me different

I was rewatching last night and got to the part where Akane is talking to the system about how it actually works with those brains in jars. It's wild how the show makes you think about what justice even means when a computer decides everything for you. Does anyone else think the Sibyl System might actually be better than letting humans run things, or is that too scary to admit?

Brains in jars probably still make better decisions than my brain does after two hours of sleep, that's for sure.

The brains in jars thing is creepy but honestly human judges would be way more biased.

Brains in jars probably still make better decisions" - see, I gotta disagree with that take. The whole point of that reveal is that the system is made of human brains which means it's got all the same flawed biases and power struggles baked in, just hidden behind a machine facade. Like yeah, human judges are biased too, but at least with people you can see where the bias is coming from and argue against it. The Sibyl System is way scarier because it hides behind this fake objectivity while the brains inside are playing their own twisted game.
