Why does nobody talk about how anime dubs fix plot holes?

I was rewatching Evangelion last night and read on the wiki that the original Japanese script actually left out a huge explanation for why the Angels attack. The English dub added a line to make it clearer. I always thought the dub was the "fake" version but now I'm not so sure... has anyone else noticed dubs tying things together better?

Good grief, they actually cleaned up the timeline? I always thought that show was a mess.

Switched my stance too after noticing the Digimon dub added context that actually made the lore hold together better.
