Why does nobody talk about how much filler is in Naruto Shippuden?

I was looking up episode counts for a rewatch last week and found out that over 40% of the 500 episodes are filler. That blew my mind because I sat through so many episodes thinking they were canon. I checked a site called Anime Filler List to confirm it. Has anyone else tried skipping the filler and felt like the story made way more sense?

Honestly does it really matter that much though? I mean sure it's a lot of filler but skipping it doesn't make the story that much better since the canon parts drag on forever too. Are people really that pressed about a few random side episodes in a 15 year old anime?

Wait, are we really pretending the canon parts of Naruto Shippuden are some kind of masterpiece pacing? Cause they're NOT. Half of the "real" episodes are just flashbacks to the same Team 7 moments or characters staring at each other for three minutes before a fight. The filler is trash, sure, but it's trash that lets you take a BREAK from the main story's slog. If you're skipping the filler, you're basically watching a show that's 40% still frames and 30% inner monologue.
