A customer told me my work van looked like a 'rolling crime scene'

I was finishing a dryer vent clean in Phoenix last Tuesday when the homeowner walked out. He pointed at my van, which was covered in dust and had a few old parts in the open bed, and said, 'Man, with all that lint and metal, you look like you're ready to dispose of evidence.' I realized he was right, it was a mess. Now I keep a cheap tarp in the back to cover everything up before I drive to the next house. Has anyone else gotten a weird comment that made you change a simple habit?

Lol that's actually hilarious. I got told my plumbing truck looked like a serial killer's van because I had a bunch of black trash bags in the back. Started using clear bags for my job trash the very next day.

That's a smart move switching to clear bags. Read an article once about how black trash bags just look suspicious no matter what's in them. Makes total sense to avoid that whole vibe.

Honestly, my own trash is so boring it would disappoint anyone looking. Just a sad parade of empty frozen meal boxes and cat litter. The clear bag would just prove how lame I am. At least a black bag lets people imagine something interesting.
