Criticism that changed how I diagnose washer drain issues

A customer's wife told me I was 'just guessing' when I swapped a drain pump without checking the filter first. That stung but she was right, I was rushing and wasting money on parts. Now I always pull the drain filter and inspect it before touching the pump on any washer call, anyone else had a customer call them out like that?

Man, I had a customer watch me change a belt on their dryer and then casually point out I'd left the screwdriver in the back panel. Felt about two inches tall.

Did you ever leave a tool in a customer's unit too? I once forgot my flashlight inside a fridge.

Left a tape measure on top of a water heater once. Customer found it three months later.
