Dropped $80 on that fancy screwdriver set with the magnetic bits, first job stripped a screw clean off.
Went to pull a terminal block on a Whirlpool dryer and the bit twisted inside the plastic housing. Guess my $20 Husky set from years ago is going back in the truck. Anyone else find the expensive tools just don't hold up like the old stuff?

Man that stings, I really feel your pain on the "fancy screwdriver set" thing. I had almost the exact same experience with a so-called pro grade set from a big brand, bit twisted on a simple Phillips head and left me stuck halfway through a job. The old Husky stuff and those 80s Craftsman tools really did have something special going on, like they just didn't care about saving a dime on the metal or the molding. Feels like everything now is designed to look good in the package but falls apart the second you actually put it to work. Sorry you had to learn that lesson the hard way with a dryers terminal block of all things, that's just adding insult to injury.

Bought a "pro grade" ratchet last month that snapped on a rusty bolt on first use. My grandpa's old Craftsman from the 80s ain't even blinked at the same job. Sometimes the cheap stuff really is just built different.
