Factory spec torque on LG compressors bit me last month
Followed the LG service manual to the letter on a compressor swap in a 2019 french door unit, torqued the bolts to 18 ft/lb like it said. Unit leaked refrigerant within 4 days, turns out the spec is wrong for that revision and 14 ft/lb with thread sealant is what actually holds. Has anyone else had to ignore the manual to get a real seal on these?

Honestly, 18 foot pounds on those cast aluminum housings always strips out before it seals, the real fix is cleaning the threads.
