Hot take: 8 minutes of cleaning a dryer vent beat 4 hours of part swapping
Last Tuesday I showed up to a call in Mesa where the guy had already replaced the thermal fuse, the cycling thermostat, and the blower wheel on his own. He was ready to buy a new dryer. I pulled the vent hose off the back and it was packed solid with lint like felt. I ran my auger brush down the wall pipe and got a clog the size of a softball out near the roof exit. His dry time went from 3 cycles to one. He saved about $700 on a new unit for a $150 service call. How many of you are checking airflow before you even pull the meter out?
