I finally listened to a customer about their noisy dryer
For years, I dismissed homeowner diagnoses, but a woman in Springfield insisted her Kenmore 600 series dryer's squeal was a specific idler pulley. I argued it was the belt, but she was right. The $15 pulley I ordered fixed it in 20 minutes. How often do you all actually trust a customer's hunch on a noise?

Sounds like a lucky guess to me. Most people just hear a noise and panic.

Used to think exactly like that until my neighbor's dog went nuts one night. Turned out it was a guy trying car doors down the street, and the dog only barked for that specific sound. Makes you wonder what they actually pick up on, right?

Could it be more than just a lucky guess? Dogs hear a much wider range of sounds than we do, so they're often reacting to something real we just can't detect. That's why I tend to trust their ears over my own.
