Honestly same here! I used to think they were just phone games for car guys. But last month mine flagged a weird sensor thing my old truck was doing. Getting that kind of heads-up before a real problem starts is the best. My old sedan threw a code for a small evap leak last winter, and knowing exactly what it was let me call around for a fair price instead of just panicking.

Glad it worked out for terryk28, but sometimes those codes are just a fluke... my buddy's scanner lit up over nothing last week.
