Pro tip: check the door switch before you sell a customer a whole new dryer
I keep seeing techs on here jump straight to the control board when a dryer wont start, and most of the time it aint that. Had a call two weeks ago in Fresno, lady with a 6 year old Whirlpool complaining it just quit mid cycle. Pulled the door switch out and one of the contacts had a tiny carbon track on it, looked like a hairline crack under my light. Swapped in a $9 switch and it fired right up. The homeowner had already been quoted $340 for a board by the last guy and she was about to put it on a credit card. I check the door switch and the thermal fuse first on every no heat or no start call now, takes 5 minutes with my meter. If you skip that step you are just guessing with somebody else money. What order do you all run your checks on a dead dryer?
