Pro tip: I finally caved and bought a proper vacuum leak detector for $350.

I always thought I could find leaks with soapy water and a sharp ear, but this thing found a tiny intake gasket leak on a Sub-Zero in ten minutes flat. Anyone else have a tool they fought buying that ended up being a game changer?

Man, a good leak detector is a total game changer. I wasted HOURS on a fridge last year with soapy water before I broke down and bought one. Found the leak in the evaporator coil in like two minutes. That tool pays for itself fast.
