Serious question, did I wreck my own repair jobs by over-tightening screws for 6 years?
Last Tuesday I was putting the control panel back on a dryer in my shop here in Fort Wayne and snapped a screw head clean off in front of the customer. I finally figured out the torque wrench my old boss handed me on day one was set at 40 inch pounds and I had just been cranking everything by hand until it felt tight. So what do you all actually use to keep from stripping threads on plastic housings, do you set a real number or just go by feel?
