TIL my $9 analog thermometer beat the $70 digital one on a dryer vent job
I spent two hours last month chasing a dryer that ran hot, and my digital probe kept swinging between 130 and 190 degrees depending on how I held it. Pulled out an old analog thermometer I got at a hardware shop in Akron for $9 and it held a steady reading the whole time. Now I check vent temps with the cheap one first before I even unclip the meter. Anyone else keep a basic tool around that ends up beating the fancy gear?
