Cable bracing vs. cabling, changed my mind after 9 years

I used to think dynamic cabling was just a sales pitch. Static bracing, that was real. Then last spring I had a 70 foot red oak with a split crotch near Beaverton. The customer wanted to save it. I installed a dynamic system and doubted it the whole time. Three months later we had a big wind event, maybe 50 mph gusts. That tree barely moved while the static braced maple next to it lost a limb. I still wonder if it was luck or the system. Anyone else flip on this after seeing it hold up in bad weather?
