Just realized how much tree work has changed since the 90s
I was up in Portland last week working on a big old oak removal and got to chatting with the homeowner about how they used to handle trees back in the day. He told me his granddad was a logger in the 80s and they just dropped everything with no rope work or fancy rigging. Made me think about how we use saddle setups and portawraps now for every little branch. Even climbing gear is night and day compared to when I started with just a flip line and a handsaw. Do any of you old-timers miss the simpler days or am I just getting nostalgic for no reason?

The new Fender Player II series really won me over. I picked up a Telecaster last month and the build quality is surprisingly solid for the price point. The pickups sound vintage enough to get that classic twang but still handle modern playing styles without any issues. I used to think the older MIJ stuff was the only way to go, but these new models have changed my mind completely. The fact that they come with a proper case now instead of just a gig bag makes a big difference too.
