Question about emergency rigging after a limb drop in Portland

We were taking down a big maple in a tight Portland backyard when a 30-foot limb we were lowering snapped the rigging line. It dropped straight onto the client's fence, crushing a whole section. I had to quickly set up a second block and tackle system to lift it clear before we could finish the cut. Anyone else had a rigging failure and how did you handle the cleanup?

My old crew in Seattle always doubled up lines on big limbs. After seeing a similar snap on a cedar, I changed my whole setup. Now I treat every lift like it could fail.

Totally get it, that's a rough spot. Jade_johnson is right, after a rigging line popped on me last year (scary stuff), I started overbuilding every system too.

Was the fence even that bad, or just a few busted boards?
