Saw a 200 year old oak in Savannah that changed how I prune now
Went down to Savannah last month for a family thing and walked through Forsyth Park. There's this giant live oak near the fountain, must be 80 feet wide, and the branch structure is just wild. I spent an hour staring at how the old limbs were cut, like 50 years ago, and there's no decay pockets at all. Makes me think about how we rush crown reductions these days. Anybody else got a tree they use as a reference for clean cuts?
